Miranda Weingartner is Program Officer at the Nautilus Institute, with responsibilities which include coordinating communication across the global Nautilus network and partners in the Nautilus Institute Global Collaborative; co-editing NAPSNet and Fundraising. Miranda is a Global Business Networks trained Scenario workshop facilitator. Upon graduating from Concordia University in Montreal in 1992 with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Theatre in Education, Miranda did political satire on Canadian television, and managed a small business. Inspired by her first visit to the PR China in 1998, she joined the Humber College Business School for graduate studies in International Project Management, and earned an MBA with a focus on marketing, corporate responsibility and conflict resolution. As Assistant to Canadian Senator Lois Wilson in 2002, Miranda coordinated two women's conferences on Peace and Security in Asia bringing together participants from Canada, the United States, PR China, RO Korea, DPR Korea and Japan. Nevertheless, Miranda still considers her greatest education working with her father Erich as executive manager of the CanKor Virtual ThinkNet on Peace and Security on the Korean Peninsula and co-author of the bi-monthly column in the Canada Lutheran called The Justice Agenda. |
